Inglemoor High School head football coach Frank Naish has been with the program for 30 years.   Coach Naish is the school's Athletic Director, and teaches Biology and Math.   He  played football at Blanchet H.S., Grays Harbor CC and Central Washington University.  Last season, Coach Naish took the Vikings to the second round of the 4A Championships.

1."How long have you been coaching?"
"Coaching 37 total years.  Two at Bellevue High School, five at O'Dea and 30 at Inglemoor."

2."What is your favorite part about coaching?"
"Relationships with kids, relationships with staff and the constant evolution -- mental aspects of football."

3."What players or teams (offense, defense, special teams) are you expecting big things from this season?" 
"Offense: return a great quarterback, running back and receiver corps.  Defense: our 35 stack is exciting for all the players and staff.  Kicking:  Return the leagues best kick and punter.

4."Who, or what, do you see as your main competition next season?" 
"The whole league!  KingCo has outstanding competition."

5."What has been your most defining moment as a head football coach?" 
Happens every time a player of parent says thanks for using football to teach many life skills."

6."What was the most rewarding event of last season?"
"Getting through the first three rounds of the playoffs -- as an underdog in each playoff game.  Having a group of individuals come together as a team."

7."What is the hardest part of coaching?" 
"Not being able to reach some kids.  Losing them to other interests (good and bad)."

8."Who do you consider to be your role model?"
"Don James."

9."What is your favorite hobby outside of sports?" 
"Golf.  And looking for balls I hit into the woods."

10."Do you have a pre-game routine, and if so, what is it?"
"No pregame routine.  Expect no eating by staff in our office.  I eat after the game."

Bonus question: "What do you want your players to walk away from your program with?"

"Our coaching staff dared them to become great.   The bar was kept very high.  Most will appreciate us more at their 10th reunion than in the year after they leave."
